nowadays, the way us Singaporeans behave sickens me to the core.

and who's the one complaining? not us youngsters, but the older generation. they call us rude, uncivilised, have no respect for the elderly and the disabled. but did they really see all of those happening? how do they know it's the youngsters at fault instead of the ones pointing fingers at us?

remember this? about the handicapped man?

it wasn't my fault. it's not my problem when i was really sleeping and that i didn't pay any attention to my surroundings. what's more, the other AWAKE adults beside me didn't even budge an inch when they saw that happening. pfft

well again, i got into trouble with some old lady this time. between school, there are breaks when the girls will find some place to slack. so yesterday, we went to kfc opposite our school to chill. as the group was kind of big, i shifted the tables and chairs bearing in mind that there was this old lady with a cast on her left arm behind me.

so while i was shifting, she shouted at me,

"don't hit until behind the people!" (in hokkien)

shocked, i replied to her not to worry, i'm very careful, i won't knock into her. the freaking old lady just stared at me full of hatred. i hate people who stare at me. and i stared back. seeing my reaction, that old lady sweared,

    "NABEH."

can you believe it? she was the one staring at me first and she has the cheek to scold me? what the hell is wrong with her? and i asked her what is it she wanted since she kept staring first. she kept quiet. and continued to throw glances while we were there.

excuse me luh. i believe in respecting the elders. but this kind of bitch, isn't giving me any respect at all. what do you base on when you scold kids like us? your age? your seniority over us? who taught you that seniority gives you the right to take advantage of kids? my parents didn't.

that is why the society sucks now. and it's not the youngsters who are the ones behind it. we tried so many ways to give in to the older generation. but all we get are criticisms and more critisms. you get talk shows like Come On, Shoot on channel U. but all you get are biased comments from this guy,

i wonder how are his comments so influential to the older generation? and i can't even be bothered with the other guy cause his comments are pretty useless.

with such tv programmes, it's no wonder why the older generations think that their way is the right way, and that youngsters are the ones creating all the trouble.

and just an hour ago, handsomeboy called to rant.

he told me he dropped his wallet on the bus. and when he went back to look for it, it was gone. but somehow, he saw his wallet in one of the aunty's bag. and hyprocritically, that aunty was helping him look for the wallet too! and guess what, she quickly alighted at the next stop.

handsomeboy followed her down the bus and asked to have a look in her back. and bingo! it was there. the aunty didn't even say a word let alone apologised for what she did and she just walked away.

    COME ON!? what's wrong here?

what happened to Singa, the courtesy lion?

which generation keeps telling us about how great the kampong life used to be. doors can be left opened and no robbers would come in?? is that all an illusion or a misled hallucination that all of them went through?

the ones who taught us about 路不拾遗 (do not pick up what isn't yours), are the ones breaking it? can someone explain to me what's going on?

we are seriously disappointed by this society. that's why we want to change it. but you adults are just so afraid of change that you accuse us, generation-y, the ones that makes the society crumble. all of you should go home and grow up. reflect closely on your actions before you see fit that you all have the ability to lecture us.
