recently, i saw this link on a friend's msn:

i don't understand why do i see so many articles that love to find "loopholes" in God's words. what good will it do you? it's not like believers are forcing you to accept God, but why do atheists enjoy tackling this problem so much? i seldom see it done against other religions and it always pains my heart to read or hear articles like this.
well, here's one rationalisation that's for you atheists to consider. but take into account it is what i think. whether does this come from God, it doesn't matter to you atheists since you don't believe in him anyway.
first we consider, what does the word HEAL means?
1. | to make healthy, whole, or sound; restore to health; free from ailment. |
2. | to bring to an end or conclusion, as conflicts between people or groups, usually with the strong implication of restoring former amity; settle; reconcile: They tried to heal the rift between them but were unsuccessful. |
3. | to free from evil; cleanse; purify: to heal the soul. |
–verb (used without object) 5. | (of a wound, broken bone, etc.) to become whole or sound; mend; get well (often fol. by up or over). |
-taken from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/heal
of the above, please tell me if there is any physical healing that involves replacing of parts of the body? note that healing does not equal to replacing. if something is lost or removed, it is not healed nor cured, but it's either found or replaced.
so how can you say that Jesus does not heal amputees? surely something that offers that kind of power is not pure. it's like creating a human being out of thin air.
referring back to the Bible when God created man. man was created from the dust of the ground and God breathe into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living being. you see, it requires the breath of life directly from God for something formless to be formed. and none can ever explain the intricate details of the human body. so how can something so complicated be formed again in a wave of a wand?
instead, why is the focus on the missing parts of the body? do amputees face life threatening diseases that was caused by the amputation? i don't think so. in fact, amputees live because that life threatening and diseased part of the body has been removed. isn't it a blessing instead? an exchange for arms, feet, legs? a life. good bargain?
maybe some will argue, some amputees lost their body parts due to physical damage? like being shot off or chopped off? or like in a war or some tragic automobile accident as the article mentioned. HELLO? you survived the war, you survived the accident, WHAT MORE DO YOU ASK FOR?
for that, i believe God is biased towards us human beings. exchanging a mere body part of ours to give us life.
in life, human beings ask for things too much and it's a never ending request. if God answers everything, the world will be in chaos. have you all watched the movie Bruce Almighty? when Bruce was given a chance to "be" God, he simply answered YES TO ALL. what happened then? all people who prayed to win the lottery won. the result? people only get few dollars each. and these people went on a protest.
so consider this, amputees are already considered as the blessed ones compared to those who contracted terminal diseases such as cancer.
praying for the amputated limb is like praying for life when you already have it. i hope this will no longer be an issue.
